I love SHINee. I’ve loved them ever since because of their talent. They sing really well despite having to dance very difficult routines. Every time I watch their live performances, I just can’t help but really feel proud. They all have beautiful singing voices (even Minho) and they can also move as one when they perform. But ever since they went to Japan and Infinite started gaining popularity, I can’t help but feel alarmed. I read some comments from few Inspirits and also from some Shawols that Infinite MAY really be better than SHINee these days.
I watched Infinite’s Paradise live performance and they are good. What I wanna know is what others think. :|
s!b I am such a closet fan girl I don’t know where else to put this. Lol
people are predictable—when one shinee shiny toy leaves, they always go looking for another shiny toy. most of them will be riding shinee’s nut again when they come back. if they don’t then who cares
I’ve been a K-pop fan for a while now. However, I’m very low-key with it and I only discuss it with the few of my friends who listen to it as well.
Recently, a ‘popular’ girl (let’s call her “H”) who’s been a bitch to me all year ‘discovered’ SHINee and suddenly appointed herself the authority on all things K-pop and Korean. Since she has a horde of friends who imitate whatever she does, they followed her.
I try to ignore them, but it’s nearly impossible. For example, while my friend and I were discussing Infinite, H butt into our conversation saying, “Ew, who’s Infinite? I only like SHINee, ‘cause, like, Tay-min is so hot.” My friend and I awkwardly smiled and walked away.
A few days ago, she approached me while I was eating lunch and asked if I would help her into the fandom. Thinking she had come to her senses, I agreed. The next day, we met afterschool and I gave her a ‘crash course’ in K-pop. However, she called EVERY SINGLE boy group (besides SHINee) I showed her ‘gay’ and ‘girly’, and she refused to watch the girl group MV’s. Why? She said, “I don’t want to watch those stupid girls because they’re prettier than me.”
Holding in all my anger, I resorted to showing her SHINee’s “Hello Baby”, since SHINee was pretty much the only group she could watch without mocking. Every two minutes, she had some smartass remark to say, like “Oh, Key’s so gay” or “Ew, why is Minho touching Yoogeun so much?” Even after my multiple explanations, she’d refute every single one of my arguments with mean quip. When I had finally had enough, I stopped the video. After that, she spilled her tea on my shorts and said, “You’re a horrible teacher.”
A few days after my attempted tutorial, H went around the school saying how ‘pro’ she was at speaking Korean, and how her pronunciation was ‘flawless’. She then proceeded to say strings of random words and phrases that didn’t make sense together at all with literally the worst pronunciation I’ve ever heard. Her friends clapped and said, “H, you’re so good!” and “Wow, how’d you learn that so fast? I wish I was like you!” A friend of mine who had been studying Korean for four years pulled H aside and tried to explain to H that her pronunciation was off, but H got angry at my friend and said to her, “What do you know? I bet you don’t even know how to speak Korean as well as I do!” My friend tried as hard as she could to explain to H, but H wouldn’t accept it and stormed away. The day after that, H started some nasty rumors about my friend and they spread across the school in less than an hour…
Now and H and her little clones are all ‘getting into k-pop’.I honestly don’t mind it when my favorite groups get new fans, but if those new ‘fans’ are like H and unwilling to learn anything new, then that gets me riled up. It’s because of people like H and her friends that I am sometimes ashamed to call myself as k-pop fan.
s!b H is very popular at my school and saying bad things about her or to her is a one-way ticket to having your reputation trashed and torn to pieces. (Look what happened to my friend.)
the mobile site works about as poorly for me as the official app does. to be fair, i have an el cheapo android that misbehaves on a regular basis XD
